Our Conservative team have always fought to protect and support bus services across North Derbyshire.
The challenge, since covid, is that those travelling on buses are around 30% lower than before the pandemic. Lee Rowley our former North East Derbyshire MP, has always fought for public transport and held many regular bus users forum meetings for local residents to raise their concerns with Stagecoach and Hulleys in North East Derbyshire.
As a result, in recent months Derbyshire County Council has launched the new “Travel Derbyshire” initiative where people can book a Dial-a-Bus anywhere in North East Derbyshire. This has been received well by early adopters, and we encourage residents across both the district and the wider North Derbyshire to take advantage of the personalised transport available to passengers upon request. Prices are as reasonable as regular buses and offer a range of customised routes to meet passenger needs.
