Alex Dale was first elected to Derbyshire County Council in May 2017 and serves as the Cabinet Member for Education.

Additionally, Alex has also been a North East Derbyshire District Councillor for Unstone since 2015, has served as Leader of the District Council 2020-2023, and is the leader of both the County and District Conservative Groups.

Alex also serves as a Councillor for Dronfield Town Council, and Parish Councillor for Unstone.

The planning application for 132 new houses south of Chesterfield Road and adjacent to Burns Drive and Southfield Mount has been rejected by North East Derbyshire’s District Council’s Planning Committee, with all 10 Councillors voting against it.
