Alex Dale served on Derbyshire County Council from May 2017 until May 2025 and has been the Cabinet Member for Education as well as Deputy Leader.

Additionally, Alex has also been a North East Derbyshire District Councillor for Unstone since 2015, has served as Leader of the District Council 2020-2023, and is the leader of both the County and District Conservative Groups.

Alex also serves as a Councillor for Dronfield Town Council, and Parish Councillor for Unstone.
